Review | Lush Eau Roma Water Toner
This year, one of my goals was to start a skincare routine and that involved doing some reading into it, understanding where my skin lies in the spectrum of dry-combo-oily and then trying to purchase products for it. At the start of the year my skin was a little on the drier side and so every time I used a face wash or exfoliated, my skin would feel pretty tight, even when I moisturised. I purchased the Lush Eau Roma Water when I got to go to a bloggers event (more info here) and after hearing about what this is good for I thought I’d give it a go!
This toner contains rosewater which is wonderful for the skin and calms redness. It also contains lavender water which helps to hydrate and soften the skin. I find spraying it into my hands and patting it on my face the most effective way. The patting gets rid of any tightness and really prepares my skin for moisturising, and consequently the moisturiser I am using always sinks into my skin better when I do tone. It’s super cooling and refreshing and when I’m not wearing makeup I often spritz my face now and again for a burst of coolness and skin loving good stuff! (especially when I’m trying to stay away and finish an assignment – this stuff is brilliant haha.)
Also sometimes my skin just feels really irritated and I know I can turn to this toner to help calm it down and soothe it like nothing else. It doesn’t let me down when my skin isn’t in it’s happy place. I notice its hydrating effects enough to include it in my quick morning routine, which means it definitely gets the thumbs up from me.
Basically: my skin feels hydrated and prepped to absorb the moisturiser when I use a toner.
With this toner, you get 100g for £4.25 and I’m happy to say this bottle that I purchased in April still has at least a quarter left inside. Having said that I don’t ALWAYS use this twice a day and sometimes, when I’m in a rush I end up skipping so I imagine it would last a little less if you used it day in day out without fail, but regardless it’s still good value for money. The bottle is made from black 100% recycles plastic and I love the personal touch of a sticker on it, telling you who made it and when it expires! The toner itself is made from 6 ingredients, 4 of which are natural and two which are ‘safe synthetics’ – which I’m guessing are essential to prolong the shelf life.
The other toner in their line – the tea tree one is meant to be great for those of you with acne prone skin.
All in all I would 100% repurchase this based on it’s ingredients, the fact that it hydrates and relieves my skin and how I really regret NOT using it when I skip it out. Also has anyone noticed how this is ALWAYS cool despite not having to be kept in a fridge? I know. Mindblowing stuff haha. If you have dry skin I would highly recommend you check this out!
Do you use a toner? Do you have any LUSH recommendations?
