We had a super last minute Babymoon to Istanbul, my first time in this gorgeous city in over a decade! The negatives / the weather was 🥵 and not in a good way…I wouldn’t recommend Istanbul in August to anyone again - was it just 2023? However the positives??🤩
- short haul(ish)
- first time in a 5⭐️
- the best food everrrrrr
- my first time in a physical @modanisacom store!
- the mastjids capturing my heart again and again
- making new memories here with the loml

End of first trimester/beginning of 2nd was such a relief! I know a few of you who are going through it in your first right now, keeping you in my duas, those 14 weeks at the start can feel like 6 months in themselves 🥲 I’ve shared my 1st trimester experience on my channel so far, including my favourite items purchased and used 🫶🏼 sadly I hardly filmed much in the second trimester cause it was just that busy! But will be posting a 2nd tri roundup soon, trying to coincide my instagrams with my YouTube videos and turns out, finding time to edit videos is HARD with a bebe 😅.

P.S if I’m blessed with pregnancy ever again, best believe I’ll be taking reading the first five ayat of Surah Inshiqaaq VERY SERIOUSLY 😬

Reflecting on my pregnancy journey, this isn’t even something I thought about till I was in it - but Subhan’Allah what a blessing this aspect was ♥️ especially because during that Ramadan I’d made soooo much dua, 1. For a healthy smooth pregnancy in the future and 2. For my salaah to be more consistent, better focus etc. and both those Ramadan duas were answered Alhamdulillah 🥹. Now postpartum getting back to praying after the 6-8 weeks is another story and ofc Ramadan with a 2 month old is a whole different ballgame, but we’ll save those thoughts for another post 😅.

All that to say, be as specific as you can in your duas, down to the little little details because our Raab is so kind and generous and seeing those duas be answered in one way or another is just incredible subhan’Allah ♥️

How we told our family and close friends 🥹💜 I had this idea very early on in my pregnancy so I contacted the incredibly talented @noors.delights who brought my vision to life in the most delicious way 😍 highly recommend ordering from her, she’s a Muslim in NI, who’s cookies not only taste amazing, but are personlisable to the last detail (her photography here too btw!). Each cookie was wrapped up individually and we couldn’t believe how well they lasted from Ireland to Scotland! That’s thanks to Noor’s excellent packaging. We made a repeat order for a few weeks later when we were telling family who were not around for the first round and our friends.

Waqaar and I love anything personal, so as soon as I shared my idea he was on board and it made for some brilliant reactions (the full story and details are in todays YouTube video: pregnancy chat with Waqaar).
We gave each loved one their own cookie with their relation to our baby and let them work it out 😋🥹♥️

Also I thought I’d post these pics of us from H’s mehndi, I was definitely looking pregnant by this point and couldn’t get about with live posting anymore. My swelling was intense and started from early 🥲

Waqaar and I saved our cookies right till the end where we finally did a DIY shoot - YES my dress is inside out, I realised too late and was too pregnant to care 🤣 and no we didn’t eat the cookies all those weeks later hahaha.

⭐️ Eid al Fitr 2023
⭐️ what to expect app (loved the forum feature with this, you connect with other mums to be in the same month - I personally didjt comment, but reading other mama’s thoughts and questions made for a nice community, even if they’re 90% US based 😅)
⭐️ Flo app was brilliant during my pregnancy, so much detailed information on baby and me too, putting a lot of my worries at bay. This and the above app had great ‘this week your baby is the size of XYZ’ which I loved 😋
⭐️ whilst Alhamdulillah I never actually vomited (huge phobia of this), the nausea was REAL this trimester. Had to show a picture of what I looked like 70% of the time, lying on the sofa, eating cheese crackers to keep the nausea slightly manageable (cos not eating made it so much worse)
⭐️ I’ve spoken about anxiety on tiktok and YouTube, those are some of my notes from a pregnancy fique lecture series which I hugely recommend to my fellow Muslim women
⭐️ turning 28 and knowing there was a lil heartbeat who is now Amaani🥹 developing inside my womb ♥️ such an emotional birthday, the last of it ‘just being us’ and yet all we could talk about was how nervous and excited we were feeling about this new stage and honour in our lives.

Alhamdulillah we have been blessed with a beautifu

Alhamdulillah we have been blessed with a beautiful baby girl 🥹💓 her name is Amaani Aisha Nazir 🌺🪷🪻

Amaani is a name I’d loved for a few years and as soon as I found out we were having a girl, it came back to mind right away. We did have a few in the end that we liked but this name ended up being the winner 🫶🏼 meaning: trustworthy 🤍

Aisha: there are many amazing women named Aisha, starting ofc with Rasool SAW’s wife (RA), so this name has always been special to me - but I always knew that if Allah swt was ever to bless us with a daughter she’d have Aisha in her name somewhere, after my beloved Nani/amijee. She’s one of my biggest role models in life, she’s inspired me in countless ways and I’m honoured to be the one to have made her a grandma for the first time and now a great-grandma for the first time too 🥹♥️♥️

Nazir and her surname was the full name of my late MIL, a woman who everyone spoke so highly about that once again, I knew if we were blessed with a daughter she’d 100% had to have her name Alhamdulillah. We miss her Dadi’s presence in day to day life so much, it’s something I’ve never shared because it’s so personal, but especially when I moved to Dundee I would find myself missing her sooo much, a mother’s love is in its own league. May Allah swt grant her the highest rank of Jannat al firdous, forgive her shortcomings and reunite us all ameeeeen!🤲🏼

If our little love is anything like these two incredible women then we will be over the moon i’a. Please keep our Amaani in your blessed duas 😘👶🏻♥️

It’s time to sit down and reflect on 2023, whilst looking ahead at 2024 and nothing helps me to do this better than my @theinspiredstories.co weekly lifestyle journal 📝 this is the 5th time I’ve purchased this same copy (not consecutively, but for every year I’ve used this, I’ve felt better balanced in my time and goals in general).

The thoughtful design and layout allows you to look at the whole year, but most importantly breaks it down into quarters, months and weeks - aligning overall goals with bitesize, workable mini goals that go a long way in keeping you focused. I love that it has space for reflecting as well as planning 🥰 the perfect balance for me.

Alhamdulillah we are so blessed to have reached the end of another year, when so many innocent people around the world, in Falasteen, Congo, Sudan and Syria to name a few, did not get this opportunity. 💔 Whilst their suffering has broken our hearts and awoken many to the true injustices of this world and the insidious nature of the people in power, it’s also been a powerful reminder of what’s actually important in this short and fickle dunya for many of us and many new Muslims Alhamdulillah - the only glimmer of a silver lining amongst the weeks of tears, pain, anger and heartbreak. So let us not forget them, nor stop amplifying their voices, showing up to demonstrations, boycotting and contacting MPs demanding change. It’s truly the least we can do.

Alhamdulillah it’s been 5 years since one of the best days of my entire life 🥹 really not sure where on earth the years have flown by to - although I always minus 2 years cos of covid!!

Haha but in all seriousness, I’m incredibly grateful to Allah swt for everything I’ve been blessed with, especially when it comes to my husband. He’s the most hardworking, kind hearted, selfless man and I’m really proud of how much we have grown up together in this past half a decade. Looking back at 23 year old us, we were babies 😅. Through the highs and lows of life, having my constant human in my corner has got me through some tough times - neither of us are perfect ofc, but I wouldn’t want to do this dunya (and i’a akhira) with anyone else Allahumabarik. 🫶🏼

Ya Allah please bless us with all the good things in this world and the next ameen and ya Allah please bless the person reading this with the same ameen. ♥️♥️♥️♥️
