A Trio Of Empties #1

A trio of empties soap and glory sugar crush body wash ren cleasinf gel oilatum natural repair face cream

I love a good empties post. It’s a great way to share how you got on with a bunch of products and for readers they get a rounded picture of how it worked and whether it’s worth their monies. The reason I haven’t done one before is because firstly it seems to take a long long long time for me to finish a product, due to having a large collection of products and jumping back and forth between them! Secondly I tend to forget to keep my empties, and so to make this all work with my blog, without having a bunch of rubbish pile up, I’ve decided to post empties in threes.  This way hopefully I’ll get at least 4 of these out annually ^_^

1. Soap and Glory Sugar Crush Fresh & Foamy Body Wash | £6.50  |  500ml

This is the second body wash I have had the pleasure of trying from the fabulous Soap and Glory line and I LOVE it. If you’re a morning shower person and you like the zingy scent of citrus and freshness, you need this in your bathroom! They describe it as energy boosting and I 100% agree, I’ve been using this for Saturday morning showers, before work and even with my weak and temperamental sense of smell, it’s scent wakes me up and smells so so good. I personally love their clean on me scent, it’s girly and sweet, but I adore this fresher scent too. It lightly lingers on the skin, not so much that it’ll interfere with any perfume, but enough so if I don’t bother spraying perfume I can still smell it faintly on my skin. It cleans the skin well and lathers up nicely which is a must for me in body washes. I don’t find it particularly moisturising, however it’s not drying either. It’s SO worth the money as you get a huge amount which lasts a good while and the bottle is practical – so thumbs up for that!

Repurchase? Yes! This has become a must have for mornings. I prefer sweeter or ‘warmer’ scented bodywashes for evening showers but this has a firm place in my morning shower routine.

2. REN Rosa Centifolia Cleansing Gel  | £14 | 150ml

I’ve had this cleansing gel for over a year and I’m only just coming to the last few pumps now. This is the first product I’ve tried from REN and it has left me keen to try more out. Now this particular gel is made for normal skin, and although I prefer my cleansing balms this is perfect for those quickish cleanses. I used this mainly in the morning after I had popped a decent amount of oil on my face over night, and it gets rid of all traces of oil without zapping the moisture out of my skin. My skin feels clean and ready to be moisturised! The other time I turn to this is after I used a face wipe to rid me of za makeup (normally when I have quite a lot of makeup on as that ish just gets messy in the sink!). I would never use just a makeup wipe to remove and cleanse, so this is great for after using a wipe as I removes every last trace and its also good for the skin. REN is a ‘clean’ skincare brand meaning their products are free from parabens, mineral oil, petrolatum, synthetic fragrances and colours, sulphates, silicone and more! Price wise this is mid range I would say.

Repurchase? Possibly. It’s on the list of ‘cleansers that work well’ but although I’ve enjoyed it I won’t be rushing out to buy another one just yet due to my current skincare routine involving the Liz Earle hot cloth cleanser and so little need for this. It’s a great all rounder though – so maybe if I can get it at a discount ;D

3. Oilatum Natural Repair Face Cream | £7.69 £5.13  | 50ml

A facecream I used mainly at the start of 2014, and its one that the Pixiwoo sisters use in their videos too. The affordability and fact that its great for dry skin really spurred me to buy it, and I thoroughly enjoyed using it! It did what it said on the box and I could feel my face enjoying the thorough hydration for a good few months. Especially when my skin felt particularly tight. What stopped me from repurchasing however was that as some moisturisers tend to do, it stopped being as effective as it was. I was noticing a difference in the slight lack of plumpness I felt in my skin, which was what led me to purchase a thicker cream. From what I recall this was a fantastic base for makeup and did it’s job well enough for me to want to purchase it again a year later and see if it will work with my skin again, as it did before. Plus its on sale! Yay! So odd how some products just stop working after a while isn’t it? I love that it’s fragrance, preservatives and emulsifiers free which makes me feel confident in applying it to skin. I don’t mind scented products but if I can avoid a possible skin irritant I do.

Repurchase? Yes I will most likely pick this up again, as I am running out of my much more expensive face cream which you can read about in the next instalment of ‘a trio of empties!’ ^_^

Those are my first set of empties! Please feel free to link your posts below I love having a good read.
